When Dilated Peoples had its 2001, The Alchemist produced song "Live On Stage", licensed in the 2008 film Step Brothers movie starring Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly, Dilated Peoples member Evidence and The Alchemist had a realization. By that point, Evidence had traveled the world, released a string of acclaimed albums with Dilated Peoples and as a solo artist, and had become a respected producer helming beats for Kanye West, Defari, and Planet Asia, among others.
